nfl diet mens health

[music] have you ever noticedsometimes in life you put a lot of effort into something butyou're not getting anywhere. like right now i'm walking. i'm walking. my legs are moving. but i'm not getting anywhere. that pole to my left has beenthere the whole time. because when you walk againstthe will of god you don't get

anywhere. you waste a lot of energy. but if you simply turn aroundand go in the direction god wants you to go, you can use awhole lot less energy and see that pole is gone. because when you walk with god, which means that god is carrying you in the direction that hewants you to go, life can be so much easier. so stop walking against the willof god and start doing what he

wants you to do, and things willget a whole lot easier. amen. [applause] how is everybody doing, say merry christmas! we want to say merry christmasto everyone in east county, north county, and all the peoplein the military, and all the people down in logan heights. let's give everybody a big hand, god bless you, merry christmas.

i want to take a picture of mylittle angel. where is your mom, bam, go aheadnow girl. god bless you. thank you very much. great job. okay. how is everybody doing? how many people have not donetheir shopping yet? i think it's too late.

what time do the stores closetonight? midnight maybe? how many people are here for thefirst time, you're visiting. raise your hand. wow, wow, wow, god bless y'all. god bless y'all. before i pray let me explain thevideo that you just saw. i will use that illustration inmy message, but we came out with an app called miles a minute.

we came out with it ten days agoor so. and it's an app that goes onyour phone. and you get a minute video likethat every single day for the whole year. and so we started, like i said, ten days ago, but it will go through all 2014. it's free. we have 60 or 70,000 views. the directions are in yourbulletin if you want to down

load it on your phone. the android version comes out injanuary, but you can look at it online. we want to you share it. we give it to you so you canshare. hit every button share onfacebook, twitter, whatever. we want to share it with peoplewho are not going to church, and we're excited about the peoplewho are getting it, watching it. let's pray, and we'll start.

by the way, this is--even thoughthis is the christmas service, this is the chuck-e-cheeseservice. you'll know why in about tenminutes. that kid knows why. [ chuckling ] aren't they sleepy yet? lord, thank you so much forchildren. thank you for the children. and thank you for christmas.

thank you for the best day, thebestest day of the whole world. jesus was born. and we thank you for yourfaithfulness, thank you for your goodness. and we pray you bless us today, and i pray that you speak to people's hearts today, thank youin jesus' name, amen. you can turn your phones off. i know some of you had yourphones on. my names is miles.

and i was drafted to thelos angeles rams and i was cut by the rams and came to play forthe chargers here--hey, hey, hey. for four years. and my first two years ofplaying i was doing cocaine, spoking marijuana, chasingwomen. i was not walking with god. i was running from women. there was a few.

and i was doing everything thati thought would make my happy, yet i was empty inside. i was on a plane one day. i was on a team plane doingcocaine and walking down the aisle of the plane and one of myteammates shared the gospel with me. several months later i was on mycouch. i had been doing cocaine allnight. on that day i stopped doingcocaine.

got back together with mygirlfriend. we've been together for 29years. and started sharing the gospelwith kids in my neighborhood. i moved and started sharing thegospel and started bible study with these kids. we had nine nationalities in myhouse. one of those kids who was 13 attime is now 41. she was here last service. she still comes to church andshe still has a relationship

with her family now. that got me started sharing thegospel. i became a youth pastor, and westarted this church in the year 2000. so it's been 29 years going on30 years since this happened. we started this church in 2002at san diego state, and we've been in this building for sevenyears. two things that we do all thetime is altar calls and serve the community.

last year and the year before wegave $4 million of community service to our city, to ourcounty now. we have three locations. a location here. a location in man marcos, and alocation in east county. they're all sitting in churchlistening to us live. what's up, east county, northcounty. they're listening right now. they also servetheir communities.

we have 14,000 to 15,000 peoplein seats every week. that adds up to 20,000 to 25,000people who go to church. but our whole goal is to servejesus christ. it's not about us. it's not about bigness. we want to be as big as weactually can because we want to get as many people saved as wecan. it's not a holy huddle, we wantto save as many people as we can.

god gives us resources so we canget people saved. that's why the internet andtechnology is important because we can reach people all over theworld like that. there are people watching allover the world. but when i got saved i realizedthe identity that god had given me that i did not know that ihad. before the foundations of theearth he gave me. today's message is called "bornidentity" because we're going to talk about the born identity ofjesus christ.

before he was born, obviouslyhe's eternal, but before he became a man through mary he wasprophesied by his identity. it's the very verse that wasread. turn to isaiah 9. isaiah 9:6. we've been doing a series thatwe're going to end today talking about the christmas in the oldtestament. what did the old testamentprophets say about the messiah? stay we're going to talk aboutisaiah.

every say isaiah. the book of isaiah has 66chapters and it's structured over the model of the bible. the bible has 66 books. the bible has 39 books in theold testament. and 27 books in the newtestament. isaiah's book is 37 chapters ofjudgment and 27 chapter of hope. we're going to look at chapter9, and it's going to talk about jesus' born identity.

it's very important for us tounderstand this because when you think about christmas you alwayshave to think about christmas, the christmas story in thecontext of your story. everybody's story has to have acontext. so why did jesus come? he came because of our context, that we were lost, doomed sinners with no hope in theworld. i was doing cocaine down thestreet, and there was a group of me and a buddy of mine, we usedto hang out with a group of

ladies from here in point loma. we all used to do cocainetogether. they're all saved now. a lot of them go to church here. only god can do that. our drug dealer goes to churchhere. literally. westerly out having a barbecue. we were having a staffthanksgiving lunch in the lobby,

and i'm getting my food. he served me the food. he goes, you know who i am. he said, i'm blank, i'm yourdrug dealer. i said, you're serving drugs tomy staff? what's going on? he said, no, i've been saved forseven years. the reason why he came wasbecause of our story. your life has multiple stories.

the christmas story fits rightin the middle of your story. you accept the christmas storyfor what it is, or you reject it for what it is, and that's whati'm going to talk about. a source of hope for you. it's not about the tree, thepresents. that literally has nothing to dowith the bible. it has nothing to do with jesus. it's all good and fun, themistletoe has nothing to do with it.

it's all about this book righthere. look at chapter 9:6. for unto us a child is born. unto us a son is given. the government will be upon hisshoulders and his name will be called four names. four royal throne names. wonderful counselor. everyone say wonderfulcounselor.

mighty god, every lastingfather, prince of peace. his name was wonderful. his name is counselor. how many of you need guidance, insight, on some problem that you're facing today. guess who your counselor is? almighty god. you can read your horoscope, talk to your friends, watch oprah, and all that is good andfine, but none of those sources

have information and insightlike god. god knows when you're going todie. god knows how you're going todie. where you're going to die. god knows what is going tohappen to you tomorrow. god knows the next job you'regoing to have. god knows about the faithfulnessof your husband or your wife. god knows the truth about yourhealth. god knows everything.

we spend so much time gettinginformation somewhere else. he is your wonderful counselor. he wants to guide you throughthe valley of the shadow of death. why walk through life notknowing where you're going? in that video you saw at thebeginning of the service i was walking on that conveyer beltgoing nowhere. that is a lot of people's livesspending time and energy and going nowhere.

why? because you're not listentogether voice of god. god wants you to get off. turn around, stand on the rail. something, but don't do whatyou're doing. he says call to me and i willtell you great and mighty things. you don't know. this is the child that was born,by the way.

he would grow and live and diefor our sin. rise from the dead, and give youan opportunity to accept him as your savior. in the context of yourrelationship with him he is your now he can walk with you everysingle day and give you counsel, realtime. you may see people at in-n-outpraying about what burger they're going to get. here's what i would tell you.

don't bother him. just get anything because it'sall going to kill you any way. in-n-out is good, though. lord, should i take this job. should i leave this job. should i date this man, datethis woman. should i buy that car, buy thathouse, live in that neighborhood. these are things that he wantsto talk to you about.

he is your counselor. nothing is too small for him. should i go to fast food? what should my diet be? most--if you go to the grocerystore all the stuff in the aisles is basically poison. for real. some of it is mild poison. some of it will kill with you asmile like ice cream, but it is

still poison. all the stuff that god made ison the outside of the store. fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, chicken, some of that is poison because of how man treated it. god, what do you want me to eat. my wife is going through somemedical stuff, and we left the doctor--and i have enoughscience in my head to frustrate doctors. because sometimes doctors don'twant you to know anything.

they don't want you offeringadvice. i've gotten arguments withdoctors, literally because i might not like the answer. we walk out of the doctor, andwe looked at all our options. we've been to five doctors inthe last week. we looked at our options of someof the medicine that has all these side-effects. i said that medicine is a trainto the grave. it's a train to the grave.

you take that and you have theside-effect, and you take another medicine, and you haveanother side-effect, then you die. god is your wonderful counselor. talk to him about everything. don't just take people'sopinions cart? blanche. say god, what do you want me todo. he will tell you to do thingsthat are way above people's heads to understand, and he isalways right.

god is a mighty god. you know why you need a mightygod? because you got mighty problems. can i get an amen? you have a mighty strong enemy, the devil. your enemy, not people. you don't wrestle against fleshand blood. when people don't like you, they're not the enemy. it's the spiritual battle thatthey're in.

it's the devil. he is the mastermind. the devil will get you to lookyourself in the mirror and say i hate you. not only with your words, withyour actions. the devil will get you to dothings that destroy relationships. he'll get you to do things thatdestroy your body, your mind, your opportunities, your career, your finances, you'll do those

things knowing there is a riskand do them any way. you'll do them and knowingyou'll get caught and then do them again. that's how smart he is. you neat a mighty god becauseyou're enslaved in those bad decisions. spiritual bondage. i was eating breakfast orpreparing breakfast in my house. i was having a bagel, and itstarts to move across the

counter. i'm, like, tripin'. this black ant was carrying thebagel across the counter. why does it have to be a blackant? the brother was strong. little mandingo ant, okay? i said, you're going to steal myfood in my house and i'm trying to eat breakfast. i swatted him and the bagel offthe counter, and he falls to the

floor. aah! the bagel hits the floor, bam. and he's all crumbled up on thefloor. i'm yelling at the ant. that's right, this is my house. that's right, you're not goingto eat my food. i'm looking at him, yelling athim. then all of a sudden after aminute he starts transformer pop

back. you ever seen bugs do that? you can step on them, and youcan hear them crunch. they crunch. they got stuff oozing out ofthem, and then they kind of uh, uh, they fly away like a most orsomething. this ant came back. and he put the bagel backtogether, bam. crawled up the front of thecabinet across the counter.

there is a little whole in mywall and started feeding it to the million ants in my wall. you can have that bagel. you're bad. i ain't gonna mess with you nomore. ants can carry 35 times theirweight. people cannot. and some of y'all are carryingburdens that 35 times your weight.

you are going to be crushed. that's why you need a mightygod. a mighty god that will come andtake that burden off your back. i was that guy. sitting in the room doingcocaine. this is what i would say tomyself. don't put that white powder inyour nose. then i would do it. that's called addiction.

that's called being enslaved. that's called being in bondageto something stronger than me. that's why i needed a mighty godto set me free. you got to do the same thing. look at what it says in versesix. everlasting father. in the trinity there is thefather, the son, we're talking about the son here, and the holyghost. when it says everlasting father,he is the father of salvation.

the father of hope andeverlasting hope. he is your protector. your provider. have you wondered or have youever thought about the fact that when birds wake up in themorning and sing they have nothing? they have nothing. they don't have food. they don't have ira, 401k,cabinets with clothes, extra

feathers dried up and waiting incase one feather falls out. they don't have any of that. they sit in a bowl of sticks. and it's raining on them. you know what they're doing. god created them to sing whenthey have nothing. god created them to worship himwhen they have nothing. and they do it every day. they do it every day.

there was a nest at the lasthouse that i was at, there was a nest right outside our frontdoor in the little babies. [ chirping ] and their mouths arelike this, hungry. they are completely dependent onmama. mama don't bring food, they die. just like this. the mother has no food. she wakes up singing.

because everlasting father takescare of them. the bible says so. i love animals, all animals. animals come up to me in thewild. go ahead and laugh. in the mile a minute you sawwhere i'm holding a lion cub. i just happened to be in africaand the whole pride of lions walked up and we startedplaying. i'm going to show you the video.

it's going to come. i also happened to feed fullgrown lions with my hands, for real, when i was in southafrica. i fed full-grown lions. custard. i'm walking in this enclosure, and the guy who took me in there, i said what are we goingto feed them. he said custard. i said, don't they eat meat?

they may get a flashback and saycustard, brother, i'd rather get the brother. i love birds of prey. if you ever see birds of preyflying around or sitting on a light post like this, they arelooking for dinner. and god provides. unfortunately, god providessomebody's brother, the rabbit, the rabbit, too, is looking fordinner. unfortunately, he didn't know hewas going to be the dinner of

the hawk. the everlasting father, god isyour provider, your protector, and you are on the treadmilltrying to do it without god. you are wasting energy. surrender your burden to god. surrender your life to god. cast your cares on him becausehe cares for you. he really does. jesus was born because god lovedyou.

he didn't need to be born. he was in heaven. he was being worshiped. he was born because he lookedaround the earth and saw that man was lost in his sin a slaveto sin, and could not get out of his own sin. could not cleanse himself of hisown sin. god said, i'm going to send myson to die and pay the penalty of your sin.

the penalty of your sin isdeath. someone has to die. someone has to die to pay theprice for your sin. either you die and go to helland suffer forever to pay for your sin, or jesus' death willpay for your sin. that's why jesus was born. when he was born he game heavygold, frankincense, and myrrh. gold because he was king. frankincense because he was apriest, and myrrh because he was

going to die. i don't know if they knew thatthat's why they gave it to him for that purpose, but he wasgoing to die. he had no sin. he who had no sin became sin. so when he was 33 years old, they killed him. they whipped his back 39 timesand the leather stripes had bone and metal in them. they hit him, blindfolded him,who hit you?

then nailed him to wood where hehung, and put railroad spikes as we know railroad spikes in hishands and feet to hang to pay for your sins and my sins, andhe died. then they put him in a tomb input their highest fighting warriors in front of the tombbecause they didn't want anybody to steal the body and claim thathe rose from the dead. well, if jesus wants to get up,soldiers aren't going to keep him down. the angels came down, the rockrolled away, and jesus walked

out like this. you think i'm lyin'? he said, waz up! and for 40 days he walkedaround. people touched him. he ate with his disciples. he talked to people, and theysaw him for 40 days. he didn't want anyone to thinkthat they stole his body. he said no, i want to you seeme.

500 people at one time, see me,touch me, eat with me. i'm real. and then he ascended intoheaven. he said, if you trust me i willforgive you of all your sin. and we will establishrelationship, not religion. religion is where you claim thisreligion and that religion and i do the rules the best as i can,and if i do them as good as some god assesses me, then i'll go toheaven. that's religion.

god wants relationship. god is dad and we're the kids. he wants relationship. god created you forrelationship. when you have a child, you don'thave a child just so they can follow the rules. you have a child so you can lovethat child. that's the reason why god madeyou. and he gives you the same lovethat is give to a child.

he's called our dad. last one, prince of peace. everyone say prince of peace. peace is--i want you to imaginea lake surrounded by mountains and evergreens and birds, birding, squirrels squirreling, snakes snaking, plants doingwhat they do. wind--blowing--and everything ishappening, but it's ordered, it's structured, it's organized. there's no chaos.

it all works together. it's called peace. god is the prince of peace. your outside world, yourrelationship, your jobs, your health, your finances can begoing crazy. your life is cray cray. but you have peace. you lost your job today. the last day that i was cut fromthe chargers my wife had a

pregnancy test. i went and got cut came home andsaid, you're pregnant. she said, how did you know? i said, i lost my job. god is not going to waste anopportunity. he's going to say, i'm going totake your job, and then you're going to have a baby. i already had one or two kids atthe time, a house, two cars, and in income because when you getcut, you don't get paid.

i was unemployed. okay, god, i'm good. i got three times. i'm good. the prince of peace had me. some of y'all don't have that. if you lost your job you wouldhit the bottom. if you found out you were sickyou would start doing cocaine. you would want to kill yourself.

the prince of peace is not yourprince. he wants to give you peace. a peace that the world can giveyou, that money can't give you, nothing can give you. in a minute we're going pray. in north county, east county, logan heights we have people watching. i want to give you anopportunity to take advantage of what christmas is about, that ababy was born, the wonderful

counselor, mighty god, everlaster father, prince of peace. he was born to be your dad. he was born to be your peace. he was born to be a mighty godfor you, counselor, to guide you, direct you, comfort you, encourage you in a relationship. that relationship happens whenyou surrender your life to him. that relationship happens whenyou admit that you are a sinner. we are all sinners. that you believe jesus christ isthe lord.

he died and rose from the dead, and you confess him as your savior. if you don't take advantage ofwhat christmas offers you, you miss the whole point ofchristmas. it's not about shopping. it's about relationship. there was a man who walkedacross a wire across niagara false. it took him three hours to getto the other side.

he took a wheel barrel, filledit with dirt and said i'm going to take it back. he said to the crowd, do youbelieve i can do it. they said you're the greatest ican see. he asked his little boy, and doyou think i can carry this across. his little boy said yes. he dumped the dirt out and saidif you believe, get in. some of you all prayed a prayerbut you didn't get in the wheel

barrel. nope, you prayed a prayer butyour heart was not in it. don't be deceived, you got toget in the wheel barrel. i surrender. here is my burden, my life, whatever you want. some of you don't want to giveit up. then guess what, you don't wantgod. he's reasonable. i was talking to some of myfamily and we were having this

discussion. i said to this person, i need toknow that i have your heart. god needs to know he has yourheart. and if you're not in the wheelbarrel, he doesn't have your heart, and you're just playing agame. he's not dumb. in a moment you'll have anopportunity to get in a wheel barrel, please forgive me of mysin and be my savior. i now know why you were born soi could have relationship with

you. i want to get in the wheelbarrel and i want to receive salvation and forgiveness and iwant the spirit of god to be in my heart. it's by the spirit of god inyour heart that you have relationship with god. it's not in your head. god actually comes to live inyou. that's how i came to stop doingcocaine.

mighty god came in me. right now in point loma, eastcounty, north county, point logan, over flow, bow yourheads, close your eyes, and listen very carefully. the bible says all have sinnedand fallen short of the glory of god. the bible says the penalty ofsin is death. but the bible says while we weresinners jesus died for our sin, and he rose from the dead.

if you would like to get in thewheel barrel, if you would like to ask jesus to be your savior,if you would like to cast all your burdens on him, i just wantyou to pray with me in the privacy of your heart, but youmust pray by faith knowing that you're getting in that wheelbarrel and surrendering control of your life into the hands of aliving god. in the privacy of your heartpray dear god, i know i'm a sinner. i know my sin is wrong.

but i know jesus loves me, thathe died for my sin and rose from the dead. jesus, i surrender my life intoyour hands. i want to get in the wheelbarrel. i receive your forgiveness. i receive eternal life. i receive the spirit of god tolive inside of my heart. as our eyes are closed and ourheads are bowed, whether you're here in point loma, east county, north county, watching online,

if you prayed that prayer in aminute i'm going to ask to you stand up. by standing up you'reacknowledging that you're getting in the wheel barrel. i'm surrounding my life to jesusand i'm ready to walk away from my old life. jesus said if you're ashamed ofme before man, i'm going to be ashamed of you in front of myfather. this is not the time to worryabout what man thinks.

it's time to worry about whatgod thinks. wherever you are, i want you tostand to your feet right where you are. stand to your feet andacknowledge his forgiveness. stay standing. god bless you, god bless you,god bless you, god bless you. god bless you, god bless you. very good. we see you all over the room, inthe balcony.

god is speaking to you. little small voice telling youthings that your conscience would never say like stand up. like surrender your life. like your life is a mess. you need god. all that stuff is true. it's god. submit to him.

don't miss the point ofchristmas. good, good, god bless you. now in a minute we'll ask all ofyou, in a minute we'll ask you to come down to the altar, allthe people who are standing, by the way, if you're a visitor. this is not the end of theservice. we don't want to you leave yet. we still have stuff to do. we appreciate you standingthere, but we want to you cheer

like there is no tomorrow whenthey come down. everyone who is standing, let'sgive them a hand. come on down. jesus! god bless you, man. there you go. god bless you, littlegirlfriend. god bless you, sir. god bless you, brother.

come forward. merry christmas, everyone saymerry christmas. hey, little man. merry christmas, merrychristmas. merry christmas. let's keep clapping and comingfrom upstairs. let's keep clapping and comefrom upstairs. god bless you, merry christmas. you're welcome, merry christmas, merry christmas.

amen, let's give a big hand. [ cheering ] amen after the service i'm going to go out and stand at the frontdoor and shake all y'all's hand. i did it last service and thisguy shook my hand. i felt it, and i said, he'shard. i looked up and said, what doyou do? he whispered in my ear, i'mteam. he wasn't talking about thecharger team he was on the seal

team. when you're on the team you justsay, the team. you look like you're doingsomething. but all i had to say was i'm onthe team. but it's always low key. y'all are on the team. you're in the family. the family. the most important family youcan ever have is the family of

now we all have dysfunctionalfamilies. can i get amen? you just joined a dysfunctionalfamily. now you have even more jacked upbrothers and sisters. before you had two, now you havethousands. but the great thing about thisfamily is that our dad is perfect. that's the thing. this is the best gift and theonly eternal gift you'll ever

get. everything you received tomorrowis going to be temporary. even if it's a diamond, it'stemporary and flawed. this is a perfect gift. this is the gift that eventuallywill go with you and take you into eternity to be with thelord. that's when you're really goingto experience it in all its fullness and perfection. the only thing that you have todo for the rest of your life

with this salvation that you nowhave, with this relationship is do what god says. this whole entire book is summedup in two commands. one is to obey god. which means to love god. and two, is to love yourneighbor, which means to help them obey god. that's all you got to do. my responsibility in life is tohelp you obey god.

period. it has nothing to do with whatyou want. it has nothing to do with whatanybody else wants. i have to help you obey god. sometimes i don't know how to dothat. god will say, well, you don't doit for that person, i will get somebody else to help them. or you do this and i'll dealwith them. the whole point of all this isto help you obey god.

nothing else. if got wants you sitting in thatseat, go sit in that seat. if got wants you to go toanother church, you go to another church. every decision that you make forthe rest of your life, does god want me to do it or not, period. if you learn that one simplething, the whole bible talks about that, teaches that. for all those who are new, somewho have been here for years,

and some have been herefor--actually that young lady 29 years. they've been hearing the samething. i've been saying the same thing. i don't have anything else tosay. we're going to help you to dothat. we're going to walk you to theroom. it holds about 10 people. something will happen, and we'llget pastoral support teams.

here's what is going to happenfor all y'all. we're going to pray for them, and then we're going to cheer for them until they get in thatroom. after that pastor marcus isgoing to come and pray for the offering which you'll give onthe way out. there are box at the exits. at that point i'll be waiting atthe front door to say hi to you. this is how that goes. because there will be a bunch ofpeople behind you.

take a picture, boom, merrychristmas. then we all go to dinner, amen? because i got people waiting forme in a restaurant. we're going to pray for y'all,we'll cheer them out, and then god has got a plan for ally'all. security, security, no. if you get the app, share it. it's not for you only. it's for--share it with someonewho doesn't know god.

don't worry about what they'regoing to think. let me do that. i'll take care of that. you share it, amen? deal? lord, we just pray for all thesepeople. we pray you bless them. we pray that you transform theirlives. we pray that you take the scalesoff their eyes that they may see

and experience you and betransformed by you. we pray this in jesus' name. take a right turn and walk thisway. yes.
